| Description: |
This is an extremely rare and technically ingenius manual wind stainless steel Bovet mono-rattrapante chronograph. The beautiful dial is champagne-colored and features luminous 12 and 6 Arabic numerals with luminous baton markers, two engine-turned subsidiary registers and luminous hands. The large case has a raised bezel, two round chronograph buttons, angled lugs and a screw back. The mono-rattrapante chronograph was patented by Bovet in 1930s as simpler alternative to the traditional rattrapante, or split-second cronograph. With the mono-rattrapante, the chronograph can be stopped and when it is re-activated, it will jump ahead to make up for the time while stopped. In this way, one can easily time two different parties in a race. Examples of Bovet mono-rattrapante chronograph watches from this time period and in such beautiful condition, with such a beautiful champagne dial, are very rare. |
